Yes, on some trips. Where available, we offer options to extend your stay or add pre- and post-tour nights. Let us know your preferences and we’ll help arrange additional services where possible.
No. While we sell tours in multiple countries (i.e. Germany, France, United Kingdom, etc), we do not combine guests from those countries into a single departure. However, if, for instance, a German customer were to purchase from one of our UK sites (i.e. www.africaventura.co.uk as opposed to www.africaventura.de), nothing would stop them from doing so but the tour would be conducted in English.
We intentionally keep our groups small to ensure a more personal and immersive experience. The vast majority of our tours have a maximum limit of 12 and on average our tours have around 9 travellers. However, a very small number of our trips allow up to 16 travellers.
Our tour prices typically include accommodation, most meals, guided activities, entrance fees, and ground transportation. Specific inclusions are listed on each trip page.
We select comfortable, well-located hotels and guesthouses that reflect the local character. Accommodation standards and details are listed on each trip page.

You arrive in Udaipur after your overnight flight. Your English-speaking guide welcomes you and takes you to Radhe Krishna Niwas, a peaceful haveli in a residential neighborhood, far from the hustle and bustle. You settle in for a two-night stay. You meet the Soni family: Jairaj, a master of miniature painting; Sushma, a pioneer in teaching Indian cuisine; and their son Krishna, a musician.
After some rest, you set out to explore the Old City on foot: lively narrow streets, colorful stalls, and the scents of jasmine and burning wood drifting on the evening air.
Then comes a highlight: a terrace overlooking Lake Pichola at sunset. Golden light glides across the water, the palaces stand out in silhouette, and the city grows calm. With a cold beer in hand, you watch the day fade away.
The evening concludes with a traditional Rajasthani thali—regional curries, fresh breads, and spicy pickles—offering your first taste of Northern cuisine under Sushma’s warm, watchful eye.

Radhe Krishna Niwas is a charming heritage homestay set at the foothills of the Aravalli range in Udaipur. We selected this property for you because of its distinctive Indian–Georgian architecture, warm hospitality from the artist-owner and his wife, cooking and art classes, plus a rooftop pool, terrace and garden gazebo offering serene views. You can relax with chai in the open terrace, or enjoy a home-cooked breakfast and evening mandir prayer rituals. What we like about this hotel: its authentic character, spacious common areas, and extraordinarily warm service.
Your Standard Room is spacious (approximately 30-31 square meters) and includes colonial-style furniture, air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, a desk and seating area, flat-screen TV, mini fridge, and a private bathroom with a shower and complimentary toiletries. Some rooms also have a terrace or balcony with views of the mountains or garden, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Udaipur.

Karmaventura Plus: Make a unique, traditional whisky offering at a Hindu shrine.
This morning, you join Jairaj for a second hands-on session: miniature painting. With squirrel-hair brushes in hand, you learn the age-old techniques of an art form passed down through centuries in the Mewar region. You create your own detailed masterpiece to take home.
Next, you travel through the Aravalli Hills to the Jain temple of Ranakpur, a white marble sanctuary nestled in a wooded valley. Inside, 1,444 carved columns stand tall—no two alike. Beneath the intricate openwork domes, the shifting daylight transforms the marble’s hues, ranging from icy blue to pale yellow. The silence of the place, broken only by birdsong, fosters a contemplative mood.
Continuing toward Jodhpur, you make a unique stop at the Om Banna shrine, a small roadside temple where travelers offer whisky, flowers, and coconuts to a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle—wrecked in 1988—which became an object of popular veneration after the police reportedly failed to keep it impounded at the station.
You arrive in Jodhpur, the "Blue City," in the heart of Marwar. Indigo facades drift by, and the bazaars hum with activity. The day concludes on your hotel rooftop: before you, Mehrangarh Fort rises from the volcanic rock, glowing brilliantly in the setting sun.

Karmaventura Plus: Hike through the authentic landscapes of the Thar Desert.
You leave the city's bustle behind to embrace the silence of the Thar Desert, the world's ninth-largest subtropical desert. Several reserves here protect a shy yet very real wildlife population, including caracals, wild asses, and bustards.
A trail opens up before you. You embark on an 8 km trek across the ochre dunes, with camels carrying your luggage. Should fatigue set in, a camel cart allows you to continue the journey, swaying to the rhythm of the shifting sands. The route traverses an area completely untouched by mass tourism. Along the way, you pass through Bishnoi and Rajput tribal villages and pause in the shade for a simple lunch spread out on the sand.
In the afternoon, you continue on foot or by camel to your campsite, nestled amidst the dunes. At sunset, a campfire is lit. Dinner is served beneath a pristine canopy of stars, far from any artificial light. Then comes a truly rare experience: the absolute silence of the desert at night. Only the sound of the wind across the sand and the crackling fire accompany your thoughts.
You spend the night in simple, traditional-style tents. Facilities are basic: a simple toilet is available, but there are no showers. The next morning, the sight of the sunrise over the dunes makes the early wake-up call well worth it.

At Thar Desert Safari Camp you stay in a remote desert setting near Jamba, surrounded by the wide open landscapes of the Thar Desert and far from busy tourist routes. We selected this hotel for you because it offers a simple and authentic desert experience with a long-standing local safari operator, giving you direct access to camel safaris, campfire evenings, and traditional Rajasthani hospitality. The atmosphere is informal and experiential, focused on nature, silence, and cultural immersion rather than luxury, with activities like camel rides, off-road excursions, and shared meals under the open sky reflecting the region’s traditions.
The basic tent is a simple desert-style setup designed for an overnight stay close to nature for sleeping after a day in the dunes. The focus is on the experience rather than the room itself, allowing you to enjoy the quiet surroundings, star-filled skies, and the unique feeling of staying in the desert.
Note: Accommodation is in basic tents with very limited facilities. There are basic toilets, but no showers.

After sunrise over the dunes, a short hike leads you back to the road. You then head for Pushkar, one of India’s oldest pilgrimage sites. There, you visit the Brahma Temple—unique in the world—and discover why these shores have been revered for centuries.
By the sacred Pushkar Lake, a Brahmin priest performs a private blessing dedicated to your ancestors. Flower petals drift across the water and prayers rise up; a profound peace envelops the moment.
You then have free time to explore the maze of narrow lanes: wander on your own or follow your guide to the bazaar’s hidden corners. Stalls overflow with the embroidered textiles, intricate silver jewelry, and leather goods for which the city is renowned. The air is filled with the sweet scent of rose water and fresh carnations intended for offerings.
Finally, you set off for Jaipur, the "Pink City."

You leave Jaipur to reach the Ranthambore National Park, one of the best sanctuaries in the world for observing the Bengal tiger in the wild. This former hunting ground of the maharajas of Jaipur, which became a protected reserve in 1973, owes its fame to the exceptional density of its felines - and to the spectacular nature of its decor: ruins of temples and hunting lodges swallowed up by the jungle, lakes where the animals come to drink, a dry forest which lends itself to the view.
At the end of the afternoon, you embark on your open jeep safari. The air carries the smell of heated earth and short grass. Each turn reveals a scene: sambar deer and roe deer on the lookout, wild boars, crocodiles motionless on the banks, peacocks on parade. The alarm cries of the langur monkeys suddenly electrify the atmosphere - a sign that a predator is on the prowl. The wait, between excitement and silence, makes the heart beat.
Dusk brings calm, and the forest regains its rights.

Karmaventura Plus: Professional styling in traditional Indian attire—sari and kurta—for your visit to the Taj Mahal.
You leave Ranthambore for a day’s drive featuring two remarkable stops. The first is Chand Baori in Abhaneri, a 9th-century stepwell where 3,500 perfectly symmetrical steps descend in an inverted pyramid toward the water—a geometric marvel that is as fascinating as it is little-known.
You continue on to Fatehpur Sikri, Emperor Akbar’s short-lived capital, abandoned shortly after its construction due to a lack of water. You wander through its red sandstone palaces, now held in silence: inner courtyards, audience halls, and the Pavilion of Winds.
Before arriving at your hotel in Agra, you stop to select traditional saris and kurtas—an opportunity to prepare for the following day’s visit. Then, if the light allows, your guide takes you to a secluded vantage point where you catch your first glimpse of the Taj Mahal’s silhouette. This initial view, however fleeting, builds an anticipation that grows until the next day.

Karmaventura Plus: Henna with Heart – Designed by survivors
You rise before dawn to be among the first through the gates. Dressed in traditional attire—colorful saris and elegant kurtas—you enter the complex just as day breaks. The white marble of the Taj Mahal slowly shifts from pink to gold, then to ivory—a silent transformation unique to this hour.
After breakfast at the hotel, you visit Café Sheroes, a venue run by women who have survived acid attacks. Over chai, you listen to their stories and ask questions, accepting an invitation for henna—with intricate patterns traced onto your skin—in a moment of rare, direct connection.
The morning continues at Agra Fort. Behind its red sandstone walls, you explore the palaces of the Mughal emperors and catch a distant glimpse of the Taj’s silhouette, framed by an archway.
Finally, you head to the opposite bank of the Yamuna River for sunset. From there, the Taj Mahal stands out, golden and serene in the evening light—a second unforgettable sight in a day that has offered two.
